Abstract

|
Due to increasing number of elderly obesity and age-related physiologic change, the prevalence of metabolic syndrome in the elderly is increasing. Metabolic syndrome cause cardiovascular complication and cerebral vascular complication. So treatment and prevention of metabolic syndrome is important for healthy elderly life. Metabolic syndrome consists of obesity, insulin resistence, dyslipidemias, hypertension. Decreased muscle mass and increased visceral fat is major factor in the elderly. Exercise, diet, medical therapy is needed to prevent and treatment metabolic syndrome in the elderly.
